It has been six months in-between blog posts again, but we have NOT been resting on our laurels! Since our last post, we visited friends in Ocala, Florida who happened to take us over to their place in Freeport, Grand Bahama. We really enjoyed being warm in January and when we flew into Minneapolis in negative 20 degree temperatures and 40 below+ windchills, we decided this was the last winter for us up north. Old Man Winter must have heard us as he kept his grip on the snow and cold into May! Currently in downtown Grand Marais it is 55 degrees.
Now that we can drive into the cabin, we are going through ‘stuff’…some will just be thrown, some will be given to the local thrift store and some will be sold. The first things we sold were our snowmobiles. We had been hanging on to them for “what if”, but finally decided to “burn the boats” and not look back. All three sold almost immediately. Right now I have some household items to go through and get on-line, and we have a Kenmore 24.6 cu. ft. chest freezer for sale. We bought this the last year we had dogs and only used for about six months. It’s in GREAT shape and we are selling for $400 (new, they are $750 without delivery).
We are also selling the cabin! If you know of anyone looking for a family retreat, corporate compound, hunting getaway on 77 acres…we have it! Our property abuts literally tens of thousands of Superior National Forest public land. Main cabin, two bunkhouses (all have their own private “bathrooms”, outhouses, lol), sauna with shower, garage with heated workshop, drilled well, solar panels, HUGE battery bank! We are considering buying a camper and living in it traveling the country for a year or two, so we will even sell the cabin fully furnished! There are some antiques and family pieces of furniture that we will take, but the rest can stay! If you know of anyone looking for a turn-key place in the woods, have them call us at 218-370-9063. In the meantime, keep watching here and our Facebook page (yes, it is still up) for updates of things for sale!!!
We are slowly going from snow bunnies to beach babes!
